Kitchen Remodeling in Santa Cruz, From Design to Final Walkthrough

4.9 from 34 Google reviews

Elite Construction pairs in-house interior designers with its own lead carpenters, so your kitchen, bath or ADU is planned and built by one team. Owners Eric Lamascus and Craig Yates have remodeled Santa Cruz County homes for more than two decades.

An engineer and a Kiwi carpenter, building in Santa Cruz

Elite Construction has provided kitchen remodeling in Santa Cruz County for more than twenty years, along with bath renovations, additions and ADUs. The firm works from 347 Soquel Ave in Santa Cruz and knows the coastal conditions, permit processes and neighborhood styles from Aptos to Scotts Valley.

The partnership began on a rugby field. Eric Lamascus was an engineer in high-tech automation, and Craig Yates had finished a four-year building apprenticeship in his native New Zealand.

They set out to make remodeling less stressful and more transparent, which shows in bids that break out labor, materials and subcontractors, plus an online portal for every job.

Kitchens

Smart layouts and standout finishes, from a navy and walnut kitchen to a Pleasure Point remodel and a custom kitchen in the Santa Cruz Mountains. 'Better' kitchens add soft-close drawers, quartz or granite tops and upgraded fixtures. 'Best' brings custom cabinetry and can move walls or plumbing.

Bathrooms

Relaxed, refined bathroom remodels with curbless showers, soaking tubs, Fireclay tile and custom vanities. Recent work includes a Pleasure Point bath with ocean views, a Pasatiempo update that traded a tub for a curbless walk-in shower, and a rustic primary bath with a hammered metal double sink.

Whole Home Remodels

Transformational work across a whole house or condo, such as a coastal condo remodel in Santa Cruz and a Santa Cruz Mountains hideaway with a steel-clad fireplace. Each job runs on an online portal that tracks material deadlines, install dates and a running total of costs.

ADUs and Additions

Detached ADUs and additions built for Santa Cruz County lots. One rustic detached ADU in Santa Cruz has reclaimed wood siding, a pitched metal roof and French doors. A permit and estimate coordinator on staff keeps the paperwork moving while the design is finished.

Eric Lamascus and Craig Yates, partners since the rugby field

Eric Lamascus and Craig Yates met playing rugby. Eric, now CEO, was a former engineer from Oklahoma working in high-tech automation.

Craig had just finished a demanding four-year building apprenticeship in New Zealand, where construction standards are high. They formed Elite to make remodeling less stressful and more transparent, and they stay selective about the projects they take on.

Today the owners lead a team of designers, coordinators, project managers and carpenters. Their own tagline sums up the goal: proof that you can love your contractor.
